New Choice for Cancer Patients

BNCT treatment (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy) is biologically targeted radiation therapy where the radiation used to destroy cancer cells is produced within these cells. This makes BNCT significantly different compared to conventional radiation therapy or any other external radiation therapy. This unique method makes it possible to give such high radiation doses to the tumour that one treatment session is enough.

The BNCT treatment used by Boneca is based on determined and long term research and development which Boneca, Helsinki University Central Hospital and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland have been doing for almost two decades and clinical trials which have been conducted for almost ten years in Finland.

 BNCT treatment has been proved safe and effective through its own clinical trial program particularly in the treatment of recurred head and neck cancer.

BNCT treatments are carried out in collaboration with the Department of Oncology, Helsinki University Central Hospital, where treatment decisions will be made. So far, over 250 BNCT treatments have been given. Boneca is the only BNCT service provider in the whole world with a radiation safety audited procedure and an available BNCT facility.
