Boneca Corporation is the only health care company in the world administering BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy). In addition to providing BNCT treatment, the company also develops the technology and products needed in BNCT.

In BNCT the radiation is directed biochemically and physically at the tumor in order to maximize a high radiation dose to the tumor and minimize the amount of harmful radiation to healthy tissue.
A major advantage of BNCT is that it can be administered in a single treatment session.

BNCT is an experimental form of treatment, which Boneca Corporation is developing in co-operation with the Department of Oncology and other departments at the Helsinki University Central Hospital as well as the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT).

Boneca Corporation currently sponsors a research program in which the effect of BNCT on malignant brain tumors (glioblastoma and anaplastic astrocytoma) and recurrent head&neck cancers is investigated. BNCT can be administered to patients with a type of cancer that meets the criteria of Boneca Corporation’s clinical research programs.

Boneca Corporation maintains the treatment facility at Otaniemi built in connection to the research nuclear reactor of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. Treatments are given by the staff of the Department of Oncology at HUCH and Boneca Corporation. VTT provides the necessary neutron radiation.
